Our Mission

Morioka Cricket exists to promote social cricket in Morioka, Japan.  Our goal is to establish training and coaching days as well as actual limited-overs matches.  Underpinning our cricket activities is a commitment to fun and safety.  We hope you will become involved as a player, umpire, coach, volunteer helper, sponsor or as a spectator.

We believe everyone deserves access to the noble game of cricket.  It should be a basic human right!

Of course, too, we hope to promote a social environment where foreigners in Tohoku can mix with each other and local Japanese people.  Please help us to achieve our goals.

Our History

The Morioka Cricket Club (The MCC!) was formed in 2006 by Brian Evans and Karl Sutherland.  Spurred on by their between-lesson encounters with a plastic baseball bat and ball at Prince Eibei Gakuin, the two became determined to spread this piece of English enlightenment to the cold regions of northern Japan.
